About
Sri Tejomayananda Natha Saraswathi
From the age of 10, Saravanan( Anna) began experiencing divine flashes and visions of various forms of the Devi. He was able to identify the manifestations of the Divine Mother and even describe the weapons held in their hands. Drawn deeply towards the worship of the Divine Mother from a young age, he began his spiritual journey in Devi Upasana during his childhood.
At the age of 14, he was initiated by a Buddhist monk into practices related to the awakening of the Third Eye. Subsequently, he received Kali Mantra initiation in Singapore from the revered Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, lovingly known worldwide as the “Hugging Mother.”
By the age of 18, Saravanan was initiated into Kundalini Yoga by Sri Guru Mahan of Universal Peace Foundation, Thirumurthi Hills, and was invited to India to further pursue his spiritual path. However, due to academic and family responsibilities, he remained in Singapore.
Over the years, his devotion and faith in the Divine Mother grew immensely. Through deep meditative states, he experienced profound inner guidance and spiritual revelations from the Devi. One such transformative experience occurred when Devi Mariamman instructed him to build a temple dedicated to her worship and service to humanity. Initially doubtful of his ability to fulfil such a sacred task, he inwardly questioned how such a mission could be possible. In a moment of deep surrender and uncertainty, Anna challenged the Divine Mother, saying, “First, you come into my home as a granite murti through a proper Kumbabishegam performed by me, and only then will I truly believe in what you are revealing to me.”
To this, the Divine Mother compassionately replied in Tamil, “Nadakum Poda,” meaning, “It will happen — go forth now.” This divine assurance became a turning point in his spiritual journey and the beginning of the sacred mission that would later manifest as the Peedam.
In 2011, Anna experienced a profound mystical encounter with Jagadguru Sri Katambari Babaji during one of his night shifts while serving as a nurse in a hospital in Singapore.
Anna later described the encounter as unlike anything he had ever experienced before, recalling that he had never witnessed such a divine and radiant presence in his life. He described Babaji as being clad in a simple white dhoti with a bare chest, while long wavy hair flowed gracefully down to his waist, radiating an indescribable aura of serenity, purity, and spiritual power.
Babaji then fixed a soul-stirring gaze upon Anna — a gaze that seemed to transcend the physical and pierce directly into the depths of his being. In that sacred moment, Anna was drawn into a profound state of inner stillness, silence, and deep self-enquiry, marking a life-changing turning point in his spiritual journey. Moments later, Babaji mysteriously vanished into thin air.
Deeply moved and spiritually awakened by this extraordinary encounter, Anna became determined to learn more about Babaji. Through his search, he later discovered that Babaji was revered as the founder of Kriya Yoga and was also connected to the sacred path of Sri Vidya.
Thereafter, Anna began experiencing subtle spiritual guidance and inner blessings through the grace of Babaji and other great sages such as Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Raghavendra, and Ramana Maharshi, all of whom further inspired and shaped his spiritual evolution.
A year after in 2012, he sought initiation into Sri Vidya from Srilasri Chaitanyananda Natha Saraswati, the Peedatipathi of Sri Rajarajeswari Peetam. He was advised by Sri Haran Aiya to chant the Lalitha Sahasranamam daily for one year before returning for initiation, a discipline he undertook with sincerity and devotion.
On 9 June 2013, at the age of 25, Anna received initiation into the sacred Sri Vidya tradition from Sri Haran Aiya at Sri Mariamman Temple, South Bridge Road, Singapore.
Years later, Anna discovered from Haran Aiya that Jagadguru Sri Katambari Babaji was one of the Gurus in his Sri Vidya Guru Parampara.
As divinely ordained, Anna, together with his cousin and spiritual brother Shashedearan, formally established Simhapuri Shakti Peedam. A 3-foot granite murti of the Devi was consecrated through a sacred Maha Kumbabishegam conducted according to Agama Sastras on 23 June 2013 at his residence.
Anna has since dedicated his life to Sri Vidya Sadhana and service to humanity. Professionally, he is a nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Practice from the National University of Singapore. Alongside his professional commitments, he has devoted more than a decade to the chanting of Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam and completing Kodi Japam on the holy text.
After years of intense sadhana, Devi is said to have revealed herself to him inwardly, guiding him further on the spiritual path. During the first day of Aadi in 2023, he received Poorna Deeksha and was bestowed the spiritual name Sri Tejomayananda Natha Saraswati by his Guru.
Over the years, he has conducted numerous poojas and homams, including Graha Prevesam, Ganapathy Homam, Lakshmi Homam, Navagraha Homam, Pratyangara Homam, Sri Chakara Nava Avarna Poojas, and Sumangali Poojas. Through spiritual-scientific workshops, meditation sessions, and religious classes conducted in Singapore, he continues to spread the wisdom and sacred teachings of Sri Vidya.
With the grace and blessings of the Devi, Sri Haran Aiya, the Guru Mandala, and Jagadguru Sri Katambari Babaji, Sri Tejomayananda hopes to establish a permanent Peedam dedicated to Devi worship, while also creating a spiritual meditation centre to serve humanity both in Singapore and around the world.
